Day 11 – Holy Spirit Speak

Day 11 – Encounter With The Holy

So by this point in the fast (10 Days In) you have most likely found yourself doing better with your conversations but not 100% fully cleansed of negativity. Well, that’s okay. Chances are you are doing better than you were before the fast, and to be honest it would have been impossible to do it perfectly. At least it would be impossible to be perfect with the HOLY SPIRIT! Maybe we should have began with this lesson, because the Holy Spirit please an important role in your ability to have a Godly Conversation. There has always been a connection between our ability to repent and be better with the Holy Spirit Speaking in our lives. Isaiah experiences this first hand. He found that when he was in the presence of the Lord, the first thing the Angels did was touch and cleanse his lips. His conversation needed to be pure in order to be used at the max for God.

Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”

Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” – Isaiah 6:5-7

This is Isaiahs’ story, but it was similar for Moses, Ezekiel, John, and Peter. They all found that being in God’s presence caused them to bow down, stand still, repent and change their conversation. Will you do the same? Will you choose today to have intentional Holy Spirit Talk? The Spirit isn’t reserved for preaching, teaching, talking in tongues, or just praise outbreaks of shouting. Those are without doubt ways, that the Spirit Shows up. However, know that the spirit wants to be apart of your every day conversation.

The Holy Spirit was given to us by God as a way for Him to always be present. He started out with us in the days of Adam and the Old Testament. Then He was with us in human flesh through Jesus his son. Once Jesus ascended the Holy Spirit was left to dwell IN us. Today, I am challenging you to let it OUT!

The Holy Spirit will be the voice inside of you telling you if the words you are choosing are correct, if the person you are going to speak to is the right one, or if the place you having a conversation is the best place to be. We need this type of guidance because we don’t always make the best choices. The Holy Spirit serves as our counselor in this situation.

The Holy Spirit will also speak through you by choosing the right words to use, the proper tone, and best attitude to use when you speak. It is often the case that we have the right idea, but use the wrong words. We sometimes have the right words but speak in demeaning or forceful tones and attitude. It is the Holy Spirit that helps us even in our delivery of conversation.

So, today be a little churchy. Speak a little more intentional about Jesus, your life in Christ, and what scripture has done for you. Today let the HOLY SPIRIT SPEAK.
